Last night I had a dream,We were inseparably entwined,
Like a piece of rope made of two pieces of vine.
Held together, holding each other
With no one else in mind.
Like two atoms in a molecule,
inseparably combined.
-Thanks Noah

Nurture wins. We are not born a certain way. We are conditioned and made into one thing or another. Nobody is born with anger issues, nobody is born gay, and nobody is born with their parents’, grandparents’, or great grandparents’ problems (excluding medical conditions). Don’t get me wrong, certain behaviors are based on genes, such as hair and eyes, and even some mannerisms, but these aren’t things that mold us as people.
“Give me a dozen healthy infants, well-formed, and my own specified world to bring them up in, and I’ll guarantee to take anyone at random and train him to become any type of specialist I select-doctor, lawyer, artist- regardless of his talents, penchants, tendencies, vocations, abilities, and race of his ancestors” –John B. Watson
On a totally different note; Arby’s, stars, wal-mart, and newberry= perfect date. Who knew?

Weekends like this past one rarely happen. Amazing. Swimming, picnics, 500 days of summer, district 9 (so i spent a few hours in a movie theater. so what?), sleeping in. This needs to happen every weekend. Maybe switch the movies up.

My life has been one complete and total screw up, followed by something completely redemptive. No more screw ups.

Top 5 things I miss about my childhood:
1.Jumping on the trampoline, and never being able to wash the black stuff off of your skin afterwards.
2.Chasing the ice cream truck down the street.

3. Sitting in the one window booth Joe’s Ice Cream Parlor has to offer, and watching the trains pass by.
4. Climbing down into manholes with Alvin and Shane Paul
and last of all…
5. Just getting absolutely muddy. I mean mud so thick it takes a scrubbing pad and clorox to get it off of your skin.
I will do all 5 of these things before September the 16th. I promise.

Saw my cousin play at the channel tonight in the Kopecky Family Band. It was an absolutely incredible show. Fun show. Fun people. And a good time was had by all. Listen to that Kopecky. Click here.

writing some stuff earlier. came out all wrong.
I am a martyr on this vessel made of stone. Sinking faster in my sin, I know I’ll die out here alone. These cement blocks discover ocean’s depths. My lungs fill with water, my head, hallucinations of life before the war. And I roar into battle, this pen’s replaced my sword.
I can’t help but see the faces of my dear old loved ones. Screaming right into the face of death. Singing, “Take you not this son of mine, he has so much left to do.” Death seems to heed their cries of love because the gates of hell are sealed, and my fate has been revealed. And the martyr sings,
Bring close the children with ears on fire, I’ve got so much to preach.
Listen to these dried out sailor’s tales, cause you will one day teach.
